Love Is In the Secret Admirer
I’m interrupting the gift series with a very special post. See, in the spirit of Love Is In The Air, Dristanel from The Physician’s Log came up with a fantastic Blog Azeroth event! All of us participating make a post like this one and we each get our very own secret admirer.
And I get to blogstalk someone else…as if I didn’t do it enough already!
I’m very excited about this! I’ve never had a secret admirer before! No, that guy who sat in front of me in the fourth grade and stole my pencils when I wasn’t looking doesn’t count.
If you want to see other bloggers’ secret admirers, head over to The Physician’s Lodge to read the kickstart post!

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Ophelie;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Ophelie;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Ophelie;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulcher
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me
Yes! that was the reason
(as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Ophelie.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we
Of many far wiser than we
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Ophelie.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Ophelie;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Ophelie;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
In the sepulcher there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.
I do hope Poe forgives me for “borrowing” his poem, but it was so fitting, you being from a kindgdom by the sea and our love ending in the Sepulcher…
Let’s not speak of endings just yet, but of beginnings! Would that you could join me in the Sepulcher. Undeath would become you…

My thoughts were with you today, wondering where you hang your helm when your day is done. Do you find the Cantrips and Crows Tavern as homey as I do? I will speak with Mr Green, the proprietor, and be sure to leave a box of chocolates with him for you. I won’t stay to visit, as there would be such a scene!
A clue, you ask? I, too, tend to the wounded and dying. You would think that one of the cloth, as I am, would have a limited knowledge of your other speciality. In a past life, or other personality, I have been many things….

I’m afraid I just can’t seem to think how this will work. We don’t speak the same language, we don’t serve the same leaders, we don’t even share a taste in clothing.
But that is the excitement of it all, isn’t it? Meeting someone so deliciously different than you and wanting so badly to understand and get to know them. I have tried the paladin road, a few times. My efforts, sadly, lie uncapped, sometimes even deleted (blood elves, so beautiful, yet so haughty. I can’t seem to get past the attitude after 20ish levels).
Your stories have made me want to try again! Maybe the protection route isn’t what I was made for. Perhaps a quick respec to holy and some random dungeons (oh, I love them so much) would make me a true believer, and not just an admirer from afar…
